Abstract
Premium Tax Credit: Tax Assistance to Help You Afford Health Insurance. Congress offers a direct subsidy for affording health insurance and it is called the premium tax credit. To qualify, taxpayers must purchase health coverage through the health insurance marketplace. In most cases, the subsidy is paid directly to your health insurance company and applied to your monthly premiums.
